Working while studying

Working while studying is possible in Finland, since everyone speaks English. But there are limitations with some jobs requiring fluent Finnish or Swedish. Be prepared.

Since the cost of living might be quite high, Finnish students usually work during studies. This means part-time job or working outside the term times.

Part time work

Most of the Finnish students work part-time at some stage of their studies. Usually this means working in the evenings or during weekends. You don’t have to be fluent in Finnish or Swedish since there are English speaking jobs as well. But do not count on part-time work as a way to finance your studies since it cannot be guaranteed that you will be able to find a job. But it is certainly worth a try once you are in Finland.
